These are my latest graphite (pencil) sketches done on various public transits (Bart, AC Transit buses).

I did these drawing this morning after my wife and I had java at our favorite local coffee shop. The focus here was not on the structure but a value study. I plan to paint this area (Fruitvale Bart Station) in oils soon. I am pleased with the outcome. It's really cool how you produce an image that excites you knowing if you continue to work hard your future work will inflate that excitement even more. The angle of the photo is slightly different from the drawing.

Acrylics

Here is what I worked on today.

This was an in class demo of one of my students. I was showing them how to mix color and paint with acrylic.


I did this during my trip home on the Bart (bay area rapid transit). The guy was deep into his iPod - he had a serious stair and was bobbing his head to the tunes. He also had a cool bike (and I love bikes!) I had to capture it.

These were done at Fruitvale Bart Station in Oakland. I sat a the coffee shop (PowderFace) and spent about 1-1/2 hours on each.
